Before Vogue Runway, before Pinterest, before Condé Nast broke my heart and dismantled Style.com to use the domain and its IP to launch its global e-commerce venture (which was very, very short lived and in 2017 bought by Farfetch), it was all about Style.com a popular and my favorite fashion site.
Style.com was my fashion dictionary, textbook. Syle.com had it all: fashion news, runway coverage, designer and model look up/profiles, styling tips, public/private lookbooks (before 2010 when Pinterest launched and folks were nervous to use it because of legality concerns).
Then came the Sytle.com/Print magazine, disbursing directly following the specific runway season. Not focusing on celebrities, no insta-stars, before Instagram, Style.com/Print featured designers, top runways shows, behind the scenes, and trends of the season. All runway, all fashion. I still have the first issue Spring 2012 with fashion model Lindsey Wixson on the cover posted up on my bookcase. I appreciated that all the print covers featured fashion/runway models vs singers and actors. And lastly we got the Style.com mobile app, which was always on point, it did not act up, freeze, or crash like our beloved VogueRunway app. Forever Style.com (2000-2015).
