I am still obsessing over the Valentino Spring 2019 Couture show! So I’ll just jump into it. Hands down Valentino won Haute Couture Spring 2019 season. The 65 look collection was everything; made of beauty, gowns, colors, ruffles, frills, volumes, flowers, dreams and fantasy, with beauty by Pat McGrath.

“You don’t invent color, but you can invent new harmonies for color,” said Piccioli via VogueRunway.

But the best moment of the Valentino show was the model casting. Models of all skin colors and different shades of blackness walked this prestigious Valentino runway. This is important. With majority of models being black modeling these beautiful luxury gowns is a big deal, especially in the European haute couture world. This shows some transformation. Models ranged from models on the rise Naomi Chin Wing and Tami Williams, top model darling of the moment Adut Akech, to veteran supermodels Alek Wek and Liya Kebede. And of course MOTHER NAOMI shutting down and closing the beautiful Valentino runway show.

I don’t have enough adjectives to describe my love for Valentino Spring 2019 Couture collection, but this was an emotional, momentous moment to view (even if it was via social media).

Below are some of my favorite moments from the Valentino Spring 2019 Couture show. Bravo to Pierpaolo Piccioli and the Valentino team!
